In addition to new updates, players will enjoy improved graphics, support for modern controllers, a weapon menu for faster weapon switching, a precise aiming system, improvements to mouse and keyboard controls, as well as local split-screen multiplayer and cooperative mode for up to four players.

Now you can play online with team deathmatch and cooperative game modes for up to 16 players. An in-game mod browser is also available, making it easy to discover and upload community content. Players can switch between original DOOM and DOOM II MIDI soundtracks or choose from Andrew Holschult’s latest IDKFA releases, including new DOOM II recordings.

The game now runs on the KEX engine and supports BOOM source compatibility, allowing hundreds of community-created mods from the past 25 years to be published in-game. Accessibility options have also been expanded; a modern font, high-contrast mode, text-to-speech, speech-to-text in multiplayer chat, and more have been added. The game has also been translated into eight new languages: Mexican Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
