Modifications are usually the treasure inside these chests. You can equip your character with modifications to increase health, critical hit chance, attack power, and other attributes. You can find gold, purple, blue, green, or white modifications. The biggest increase is available with gold modifications. Your character cannot carry more than one mod at a time. To get another mod, you need to drop the mod you’re currently playing. After completing the first chapter, you start the second chapter with an objective, usually a large cooperative mission requiring all five players to work together on a single project. A common example I encountered was operating a turret while enemies launched a large-scale attack.

In multiplayer mode, this game is similar to roguelite games; your equipment is only saved between missions. Having mentioned the positives, most of the negatives seem insignificant, as there are very few real negatives I can recall. I don’t mind this since it’s a multiplayer first-person shooter, but I would have preferred the plot to be more logical or engaging as it felt a bit contrived. If you’re familiar with the Sword Art Online series, you’re probably used to this, as it’s a well-known franchise. Legendary items rarely drop, which makes finding the best combination of attributes frustrating for collectors like myself.
