The King of Fighters 2002 ROM | Neo Geo AES Game

Unlike some earlier titles, The King of Fighters 2002 ROM does not focus on a traditional storyline. Instead, it introduces a “Dream Match” format that brings together fighters from many previous entries in the series. Along with familiar teams such as the original Japan Team, the game also includes groups that represent different installments from The King of Fighters ’96 through The King of Fighters 2001, creating a large and nostalgic roster for fans.

The game keeps the classic system where players choose three fighters to compete together. At the same time, it introduces several gameplay improvements and mechanics, including the Free Cancel system, the return of Max Mode, and defensive options like Quick Emergency Evasion and Quick MAX Mode activation. These additions make battles faster and more strategic while expanding the possibilities of each character’s special moves and abilities.
