Suika Game Special Edition XCI is a multiplayer puzzle game where the goal is to create the perfect watermelon by combining fruits and completing fun challenges.

It’s rare for a game to suddenly appear and top the Japanese sales charts, but Suika Game, or Watermelon Game, did just that. This simple Japanese indie game launched on the Nintendo eShop in December 2021 without much promotion and quickly became a hit, selling millions of copies thanks to player recommendations.

Watermelon Game’s gameplay is incredibly simple. The rules are similar to the classic game 2048, but with a more engaging interface. You simply drag a fruit from the top of the screen and place it in a box of different fruits by pressing the A button. Your goal is to combine identical fruits. When two identical fruits touch, they transform into a larger fruit, the largest of which is a watermelon. The game ends when the box is full of fruit. Your goal is to score as many points as possible by clearing all the fruit.

A helpful indicator in the lower right corner of the screen shows the order in which the fruit will transform. Knowing this sequence is crucial for achieving the highest score. For example, if you have grapes next to oranges in your box and a grape is about to fall, you can throw it directly onto another grape to turn it into an orange. If you aim well or are lucky, it will hit another orange and turn into yet another.

It’s so simple, yet the game “Watermelon” is incredibly fun and addictive because it tests your skill and reflexes to achieve the highest score. The game features both local and online leaderboards where you can compete against other players.

While the watermelon is the heart of the game, it’s the graphics and sound that truly make it special. Its attractive and simple design, without complex graphics, ensures smooth gameplay. The music is pleasant and visually appealing. This simple and attractive design will appeal to people of all ages, from children to adults.
