Top Racer Collection

The Top Racer series, known as Top Gear in some regions, began in the 1990s with classic 16-bit racing games. The first three titles launched on the Super Nintendo and later became cult favorites, especially in Brazil. What made Top Racer stand out at the time was its focus on strategy. Players had to manage fuel, deal with car breakdowns, and think carefully during races. Some entries even included light RPG-style elements that let you upgrade and customize your vehicle’s performance.

With the Top Racer Collection Switch NSP XCI, you get Top Racer, Top Racer 2, and Top Racer 3000 all in one package. The collection also adds new features such as display filters, time trial modes, and custom cup options. A ranking system makes competition more exciting. It also includes Top Racer Crossroads, a new version inspired by the original, featuring exclusive content like unique car models, including the fun ladder-climbing vehicle.

Each game offers multiple modes including campaign, quick race, time trial, and custom cups. You’ll also find guides, galleries, and save-state support. Local split-screen multiplayer is available, with Top Racer 3000 supporting up to four players. Online multiplayer is included as well, although cross-platform play is not supported. Keep in mind that online mode will not be available if you play the collection through an emulator on PC.
