Whether they’re traveling to a new place, fighting monsters, or simply walking together, their constant conversations and casual jokes make the group feel genuine and alive. Noctis and his team are clearly the heart of the experience, and Square Enix does a solid job of presenting them in a way that feels approachable and easy to care about. That said, some of the same issues from the original Final Fantasy XV are still noticeable here. What begins as a clear and focused hero’s journey slowly loses direction, making the story feel rushed and confusing in parts, especially as it moves toward the later stages.
