The game begins with Captain Toth awakening on his damaged ship to the ominous words of a bright light in the sky. Within minutes, they’re on the open sea, recruiting new sailors and eventually building a fleet under their command.

The game revolves around Captain Toth, who is tasked with a noble mission: “saving the deep sea,” which simply means defeating pirates. After completing the training and rescuing the first mate, the game opens up new horizons, and you’re free to pursue your own agenda, knowing that the only real goal of progressing through the “story” is confronting the Skull Clan pirates in various locations. You’ll also meet a variety of eccentric characters, many of whom offer missions or services to the fleet. The game’s narrative style is humorous and incorporates many elements of the naval era, but it never becomes boring. I would have liked some characters to have more dialogue, but learning more about the world through exploration rather than focusing on backstory is much more engaging.

• Both NSP and XCI formats work perfectly with Yuzu and Ryujinx emulators. NSP files are installed directly, while XCI files are full cartridge dumps.
