Game description

The Disney Afternoon Collection NSP is a nostalgic set of classic Disney platformer games with fun gameplay and memorable characters from the retro gaming era. Bonkers, one of the SNES games, is quite fun. Published by Capcom but developed by Sun L, it’s a simple platform game where you progress through a series of easy levels with a few boss fights. The main mechanic here is your ability to run fast, using extra speed to destroy objects and take down enemies.t

As an added bonus, the Nintendo version also includes two SNES games: Goof Troop and Bonkers (an extra bonus for those who remember Bonkers). The name of the Afternoon Games collection refers to the days when nothing was available on demand; TV channels would tell you when you could watch a program, and it was best to watch it on time. Right after school, most channels would air children’s programs until the 5 o’clock news.

Luckily, the games are housed in the Collection Museum, along with design drawings you can examine. Here, you’ll find everything from hand-drawn illustrations to other artwork from the games. It’s also great to listen to the songs from all the games on an audio player; my favorites are the Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers theme, DuckTales, and Goof Troop. The song “Sea Robber” from Goof Troop brought back memories of finishing the game with my siblings. It’s so easy to get distracted for a moment, so reclaiming those “lost” seconds is crucial. When I showed the games to my two children, aged 8 and 6, their interest was mostly focused on “Goof Troop” and “Chip ‘n’ Dale”.
