Plot

Despite the seemingly lighthearted graphics, the game’s dark tone makes it one of Nintendo’s most gripping and engaging stories.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe tells the story of three astronauts stranded on the dwindling, food-starved planet of Kopai. Alf, Brittany, and Charlie face a gruesome fate as they are forced to travel to PNF 404 (aka Pikmin) in search of new food sources.

The story unfolds after their spaceship, the Drake, crashes, leaving the three crew members stranded on the planet’s surface. It continues the series’ core storyline, adding interesting twists and a seamless chronology. However, players can also choose Pikmin 3 as their first game in the series.

Gameplay

It introduces several new features to the Pikmin series. It’s the first game in the series to allow players to control up to three characters simultaneously, compared to two in Pikmin 2. This mechanism makes puzzles more engaging and creative. For example, players can now not only throw Pikmin as usual, but also throw their companions to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Many New Features:

One of the most significant changes in Pikmin 3 Deluxe Edition is the addition of a new challenge mode called “Heat Scorch.”

Heat Scorch is a truly challenging mode that reduces the number of available Pikmin from 100 to 60. Limited resources present a challenge, but managing those resources is incredibly engaging, further emphasizing the simplicity of Pikmin as a real-time strategy game.

Finally, in addition to the main storyline, the game has added side quests that connect previous installments with this one. These exciting new features will let you reunite with classic characters from Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2, like Captain Olima and Louis.
